The M Salon is a spacious, luxurious salon in Huntington Beach, and in just two years we've grown into one of the busiest salons around. Clients come to us from all over Orange County, Los Angeles County, Inland Empire and San Diego County for services on dark hair done right: dimensional balayage, all-over color, and layered haircuts with face framing curtain bangs, all finished with our signature bouncy blowout.

This role is for a stylist who's ready to grow their career, not just fill a chair. You'll have a steady stream of clients, a team that pushes each other to get better, and an owner who's invested in your success.

What you'll do

  • Provide a thorough consultation to understand our clients needs and desires

  • Perform haircutting, coloring & lightening services according to salon’s standards

  • Finish every service with our bouncy blowout signature look or shiny curls, clients’ choice!

  • Book each client's next visit before they leave

  • Keep up with new trends and techniques

  • Give every client a warm, personal experience from consultation to checkout

What you need

  • California cosmetology license and a driver's license

  • At least one year of salon experience, as an assistant or a stylist

  • An active Instagram or TikTok portfolio showing work done on dark hair

  • Enjoys helping others, open to feedback, and wants a challenge in a fast-paced salon

  • Detail oriented, reliable, tidy and comfortable on your feet for long hours

  • A growth mindset: you're always learning and you want a long-term career, not just a job

Pay and schedule

Pay: $5,600 to $7,500 a month ($67,000 to $90,000 a year), estimate based on our top stylists, commission-based

Schedule: Full-time (4 to 6 days a week) or part-time (2 to 3 days a week). At least one weekend day required.
